MARY M. AWALT COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
Established in 2006 as a memorial to this Sycamore resident by her husband Bill, the fund will serve grantmaking in child care, land use, and workforce development as part of the CommunityWorks initiative.

 

NANCY D. CASTLE COMMUNITYWORKS FUND

Nancy D. Castle, a long time community steward, established this fund to provide grant resources in the areas of child care, land use, and workforce development in DeKalb County through DCCF’s CommunityWorks Initiative.


CHARTER GROVE GRANGE #1843 FUND
This fund was established in 1998 when the Charter Grove Grange #1843 no longer felt it was serving the interests of its members and decided to establish an endowment to provide support for agricultural pursuits, health and human services and community development.


CINCO de MAYO COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
Incepted in 2006 by Sycamore's Taxco Restaurant proprietor Jesus Romero, initial assets came from the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, and will support the CommunityWorks program.


CURRAN COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
This Sycamore couple started this fund at year's end 2006, in support of the CommunityWorks program specific to child care, land use and work force development.


CLIFFORD AND MARJORIE DANIELSON FUND
Marjorie and Clifford Danielson, former chair of The National Bank & Trust Company of Sycamore, established this fund in 1995. The fund's income will benefit conservation, historic preservation, and also cultural and artistic endeavors.


COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
This was started in 2004 as part of a special initiative between the Community Foundation and the Grand Victoria Foundation. The fund will eventually distribute proceeds to three specific areas in DeKalb County - childcare, work force development, and land use and conservation.


COMMUNITYWORKS LEADERSHIP ENDOWMENT FUND
The Foundation's CommunityWorks co-chairs, Tim Dunlop and Jesus Romero, assisted by 2006 president Bill Mullins, started this endowment as a challenge to fellow board members, to support the CW initiative. Yearly distributions will support child care, land use, and workforce development grantmaking efforts.


DAY CARE FUND FOR CHILDREN
The income from this fund, established in 1996, is utilized to provide annual income for operating and capital expenses for day care centers in DeKalb County.


DEKALB COUNTY YOUTH GRANTMAKERS FUND

Funded in 2008 primarily from a non-restricted gift to the Foundation, this endowment will provide a great jumpstart to our new Youth Philanthropy initiative, which will be unveiled during the coming year.

 

TIM AND SUSAN DUNLOP ADMINISTRATIVE ENDOWMENT FUND

Tim, a DeKalb County Community Foundation Board Member, and his wife started this endowment fund in 2009 to support the community leadership activities of the Foundation.  Through providing a stable source of funds for the Foundation's operating budget, they are building on the capacity of the staff to be proactive in understanding and supporting a variety of needs and issures in DeKalb County.

 

STEPHEN AND PATRICIA FAIVRE COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND

This local couple established this endowment in early 2008, to support CommunityWorks' efforts in child care, land use, and workforce development.

 

JANET HACK ANIMAL WELFARE ENDOWMENT FUND
Funded in 2006 from the estate of this late DeKalb resident, the endowment will provide annual support to animal welfare causes in DeKalb County.

 

JERRY & ANNETTE JOHNS COMMUNITYWORKS FUND

Established by educators and community supporters Jerry and Annette Johns, this fund awards grants in the areas of child care, land use, and workforce development in DeKalb County through DCCF’s CommunityWorks Initiative.


KISHWAUKEE KIWANIS CLUB COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
When Kiwanian Tim Dunlop issued a challenge to his local service club, the members responded enthusiastically, and the effort resulted in the inception of this new fund in 2007, which also benefited from a dollar-for-dollar matching grant from Grand Victoria Foundation. The fund will support the implementation of our CommunityWorks Impact Plan, which addresses child care, land use, and work force development in DeKalb County.


KAREN LEE KLEIN COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
Following the death of this DeKalb woman in 2006, the family directed memorial gifts to incept this endowment, in support of the Foundation's CommunityWorks initiative. Yearly distributions will provide support of causes dealing with child care, land use, and workforce development.


KAREN AND RONALD KLEIN ENDOWMENT FUND
Established in 1996, the income from this fund shall be used for the benefit of county libraries and a DeKalb High School scholarship.


ROWLAND & LUCILE MATTESON CONSERVATION & WILDLIFE FUND
Established following Lucile's death, this fund established in 2006 will allow our Grants Committee to make grants dealing with conservation and wildlife preservation, two areas of special interest to this former couple.


ROWLAND & LUCILE MATTESON ELDERLY ASSISTANCE FUND
This fund was established in 2006 following Lucile's death, and will allow the Foundation Grants Committee to deal with assisting the elderly in DeKalb County.


HOWARD AND MARTHA MULLINS COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
This fund was started in 2004 as a memorial to these long-time former Shabbona residents, in support of the Foundation's CommunityWorks effort. Annual distributions from the endowment will support local causes in child care, land use, and workforce development.


WILLIAM AND BONNIE MULLINS COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
This Shabbona couple established this fund in a leadership capacity tied in with Bill's chairing of the CommunityWorks initiative at the Foundation in 2004. The fund's yearly distributions will support local efforts in child care, land use, and workforce development.


NORTHERN REHABILITATION & SPORTS MEDICINE COMMUNITYWORKS FUND
Established in 2006 by this local business and its owners, the endowment will support grantmaking in child care, land use, and workforce development as a part of the Foundation's CommunityWorks initiative.


HELEN AND KENNETH O'KANE FUND
The income from this fund, established in 1994, is used to improve education in the county public schools.


ROBERT AND MARY PRITCHARD COMMUNITYWORKS ENDOWMENT FUND
This Hinckley couple started this fund in 2006, in support of the Foundation's CommunityWorks program. The endowment will serve grantmaking in child care, land use, and workforce development.


SEPTEMBER 11 FUND
This fund established in 2003, approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors, is designed to provide annual support to area agencies, such as the Red Cross and Salvation Army, in the community spirit emanating from our national tragedy.


DANIEL AND KRISTAL TEMPLIN COMMUNITYWORKDS ENDOWMENT FUND
Dan began working for the DeKalb County Community Foundation in 2005, with primary responsibilities including coordinating the CommunityWorks initative.  Through partnership with many people in DeKalb County and the Grand Victoria Foundation, CommunityWorks will improve many lives through its child care, land use, and workforce development strategies.  Dan and Kristal are proud to contribute to DeKalb County's quality of life through this fund started in 2009.

 

CHARLES AND RUTH TOWNSEND FAMILY FUND
Established in 1995, the income from this fund is used to support art, culture and education, primarily in the Sycamore area.


FARNY R. WURLITZER FOUNDATION FUND
This field of interest fund was established in 1993 as a grant source primarily for music education programs in DeKalb County.
